About our practice
Steve Greenburg is an experienced special education attorney in Santa Cruz, CA, representing students and parents throughout the San Francisco and Monterey Bay Areas. In addition to his law degree, Mr. Greenburg holds a masters degree in teaching. Prior to law school, he was director of a learning disabilities clinic for 10 years. Steve authored a law review article on Learning Disabled Juveniles and Waiver of Miranda Rights.

Steve has been interviewed by NPR and has taught numerous seminars, including California Special Education Law for National Business Institute, Charter Schools and Special Education Law for Bay Area Tech Charter School, Discipline of Students with Special Needs in California for Lorman Educational Services, and Special Education Law & Advocacy for Santa Cruz Legal Assistants Association.

Steve emphasizes working collaboratively with schools and IEP teams wherever possible. This approach has resulted in resolving school disputes with a high success rate.
How we can help
We offer hourly consultations and legal representation. Mr. Greenburg will review assessment reports, IEPs, 504 Plans, and other student records. School disciplinary matters through post-secondary are also welcome when a student believes they are wrongfully accused of violating a school rule or policy.
